    PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS

I extend a very warm welcome to all new students and members. Welcome back to last year’s students who have enrolled into our 2010 classes and to those people who have renewed their subscriptions to the Circolo. We promise you another splendid year enjoying our Italian programme and we hope you will come along to our classes and socials where you will experience a taste of Italian culture.
On 30 January we celebrated the Circolo’s 60th birthday and everything went so well. We enjoyed the chance to catch up with past and present members of the Circolo, scintillating conversations, a Power Point presentation on the history of the Circolo, a sing-along, music and dancing with the Mediterranean Trio, food, wine and more… Many thanks to the 60th birthday sub-committee members and to all the helpers who worked so hard to make the event such a success; I’m sure we will be talking about the party for many years to come!!
On 3 February we held the 2010 Circolo Classes Opening Ceremony and it was good to see so many new and returning students present. Special thanks to Dr Donato Scioscioli, Charge` d’affaires, Embassy of Italy, for opening our classes and for his words of encouragement to the Circolo members and students.
If anyone has any queries about the Circolo, please contact me (Elizabeth) tel. 4759781 or email president@circoloitaliano.org.nz
Check our website: www.circoloitaliano.org.nz for up to date news and information.
